Meet the characters

Pip is the smallest animal in Swansbury. His favourite colour is green and he loves adventures. He is very helpful and lives in a matchbox under the counter.

Sherb is an inventor. He loves books and listening to music. Sherb lives in the rafters of Not Before Tea.

Mr Fox is the smartest animal in Swansbury. He is very polite and lives in a hut in the woods. He is a tailor and makes everyone clothes.

Vera loves pink. Her best friend is Martha the mole and they both love dancing. Vera is very cheerful and a bit of a chatterbox. She lives in the bank of the Merry River.

Martha is a gardener. Her favourite colour is lilac and she is very playful. She hates getting dirty, which is hard to avoid when you’re a mole.

Mrs Pinny owns the little shop on the corner called Not Before Tea. She loves children and is very kind. She drinks tea and talks a lot.

Brendan is very friendly. He makes lemonade and loves playing the violin. Brendan likes to mend things and is good at DIY. He lives next door to Mr Fox.

Bubbles is not the brightest fish in the village but he is always smiling. He is quite forgetful and is always jumping out of his bowl. He always wants to go on adventures. (If you ever see him, please don’t tap the glass.)

Billy the cat is very grumpy. He has fur that sticks out, very sharp teeth, wiry whiskers and eyes like hot coals. In the daytime he sleeps on Mrs Pinny’s armchair but at night he goes on secret missions, which he says are very dangerous.
